Sodium tripolyphosphate is a white powder; melting point 622°C; easily soluble in water; it has significant chelating ability to Ca and Mg plasma, can soften hard water and turn suspension into clear liquid; it is weakly alkaline but non-corrosive . It is a surfactant with excellent emulsification effect on lubricants and fats.
